Esther was born on April 20, 1930 in Hastings, MI, a daughter of George M. and Melva Naveria (Perry) Gallup. She married Edward Wayne DeVoss, Sr. on December 12, 1946 in Chicago. He preceded her in death. Her parents and several brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan M. Dulla of Kewanee; son, Edward Wayne (Melissa) DeVoss, Jr. of Galesburg; and grandchildren, Amber Dee (Chris) VanDyke of Sugar Grove and Roxy Erica Dulla and Lance Alan Dulla, both of Kewanee.
Esther was formerly employed at the Barn House restaurant in Kewanee and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kewanee.
Esther enjoyed walking, reading books, watching soap operas and movies on Lifetime. She enjoyed listening to the oldies, religious and soft music. Lawrence Welk was her favorite performer and “Honey”, by Bobby Goldsboro was her favorite song.
She loved spending time shopping with her family and friends, going to the park and being with her family at the holidays. Esther had a kind heart, was very loving, thoughtful and giving toward others.
